Dr. Hernández has been Family Medicine Board Certified since 2016. She is originally from Cuba and moved to the United States at a young age.
She studied Medicine at The Universidad Americana in Nicaragua where she received her degree in Doctor of Medicine and Surgery in 2005. She worked as a house physician at Kendall Regional Hospital in Miami before moving to Alabama to start her residency in 2013. She completed her Family Medicine residency at The University of Alabama Selma’s Family Medicine program in July 2016. Dr. Hernández has been practicing Family Medicine in the Vero Beach/ Sebastian area since September 2016.
She specializes in adult medicine, well-women examinations, and acute and chronic disease management . She also sees patients age 13 to 18. She has been treating patients from different cultures and backgrounds and her experience makes her able to better understand patients’ needs. Dr. Hernández is fluent in English and Spanish. She enjoys reading a good book with a cup of hot chocolate and traveling.
